FAQ

What exactly is mirror movement development (MMD)?
MMD is working to learn how to do everything in mirrored direction. The simplest way to understand MMD is to imagine yourself being video recorded throughout the day. Then, take that video footage and mirror flip it… your goal of MMD is to work to learn how to do what you see yourself doing in that mirror flipped video. In that video you’ll see yourself throwing with your other arm, kicking with your other foot, writing with your other hand in mirror direction, reading in mirror direction, typing on a mirrored keyboard onto a mirrored screen, clocks become mirrored, board sports become switch, items like can openers and scissors become ‘lefty,’ etc.

What does MMD do for the brain?
MMD sends bloodflow to your opposite brain hemisphere. Over time, oxygen from this bloodflow creates new neurons and new synapses in your brain, which thickens the corpus callosum (the brains’ communication bridge between the hemispheres). Learn more about the science of MMD here.

What are the benefits of MMD?
General longevity, balance, memory, spatial awareness and more increase with MMD. These benefits can be seen in many of history’s greatest creatives, thinkers, and athletes who practiced MMD.
